Back to back: two or more DJs playing one set, taking turns track by track.
Beatmatching
Syncing the pulse of two tracks so their beats land together.
BPM
Beats per minute: a track's tempo, and the first number any DJ looks at.
Breakdown
The part of a track where the rhythmic elements drop away and the energy deliberately falls.
Build-up
The passage that builds tension on purpose until it resolves into a drop or a change.

Camelot wheel
A 24-position circle that turns every key into a short code like 8A or 9B.
Closing set
The closing set: the one that decides how the night will be remembered.
Crowd reading
Watching how the room responds and adjusting the set accordingly, in real time.
Cue point
A saved marker inside a track that lets you jump exactly there.
